BiS in brief: Habitat Savannah to dedicate its 127th home

By Business in Savannah

Savannah’s Habitat for Humanity — along with its homeowner families, partners and volunteers — will dedicate a Habitat Savannah home at 808 W. 42nd St. at 11 a.m. Saturday.

A brief dedication ceremony and house blessing will conclude with Sonja Capers, the new homeowner, receiving keys to the house that was built largely through the labor of 400 volunteers.

Financial support for the house was provided by the Stewart Huston Fund, Jack Neises Memorial Fund, Historic Savannah Foundation, National Trust for Historic Preservation, U.S. Green Building Council, Georgia Chapter, Lynch and Associates Architects, Bouhan, Falligant Attorneys and Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church.

Other partners on the project include the city of Savannah Department of Housing (HOME program), Savannah College of Art and Design, Gaster Lumber, EnviroFoam Insulation, Savannah Drywall, Valspar and Home Depot.
