Local Attorney Rob Brannen Recognized at Georgia Bar Real Estate Law Institute

Institute to be Held in Savannah in 2014

Savannah, GA May 14, 2013—Local attorney Rob Brannen, a partner with Bouhan Falligant, was elected Vice President of the Georgia Bar Association Real Property Law Section at the Real Property Law Institute held May 9th to 11th, 2013.

This year’s institute hosted 300 real estate lawyers at Amelia Island. Next year, the annual institute will be held in Savannah with Brannen organizing the event.

The Georgia Bar Real Property Law Section promotes the interests of Georgia real estate attorneys, including providing continuing legal education, monitoring and participating in legislation and litigation, and the coordination of pro bono legal services. Attorneys stay current on trends in the practice area and gain insight through seminars.

Brannen, an attorney with expertise in real estate law, has worked diligently on the Ethics Committee of the Real Property Law Section for the last 7 years. He spoke to the institute on “Building Better Attorneys and Protecting the Consumer, The War on UPL and Witness Only Closings,” and moderated the commercial real estate breakout session.

“As we face the nationalization of the mortgage industry, we must insure that homebuyers are protected by licensed Georgia real estate attorneys that oversee the transaction from beginning to end as required by the Georgia Supreme Court,” Brannen said.
