Robert Brannen Jr. Lauded for Pro Bono Work

Three Savannah attorneys on Thursday were recognized for their efforts to work with low-income Georgians seeking critical legal services.

Recognized by the Savannah Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee were attorneys:

  • Francesca Rehal, who received the Pro Bono Champion Award for handling the greatest number of cases during the past year. She specializes in family law and has assisted in the training of other volunteer attorneys in the area of domestic violence.
  • Robert Brannen Jr., who received the Pro BonoAdvocate Award for providing exceptional services to clients, attention to detail and handling every case with care.
  • Kristin Ruzicka Cerbone, who received the Pro Bono Catalyst Award for going above and beyond to support and advance the Pro Bono Initiative She works as a volunteer and has joined a group of local lawyers who volunteer their time at the Georgia Legal Services office.

The Pro Bono Award program was a joint initiative of the Georgia Legal Services office and the Savannah Bar Association and is now an activity of the bar’s Pro Bono Committee.

A pro bono attorney takes on a legal matter without the expectation of being paid and is encouraged by local bars as a way to give back to their communities.

The awards were presented at the Savannah bar’s February luncheon at the Savannah Golf Club.
